We are SO encouraged by your prayers and notes. I wish I could write you all back.
Our prayers are being answered !
So far the medication is working and the GBS is not advancing. GBS often moves up into the chest and lungs causing many complications. However, Al’s symptoms remain from the waist down.
Thank God with us and keep praying the medicine will continue to work.

We finally received the Pathology report from KK’s surgery.
The mass was benign.
A big thanks to our prayer partners for your support and encouragement.

Surgery is over and all is well.
It will take 7-10 days to get the pathology report.
It was an eventful day.
Quick blood typing this morning showed long-time antibodies in her blood presenting a challenge. Things came to a halt since a femoral artery was impacted by the mass and they needed the right blood available before starting the surgery.
Finally everything came together and 8 hours later she went back to surgery.
Just spoke with the surgeon. It was very deep but he navigated the vessels and removed the mass without complication.
She can go home later tonight.
Thanks for your prayers and encouragement.

We spent the morning at Emory University Orthopaedics. KK had a CT scan and the Dr says the small mass is not attached to the bone (hooray!). And, he still does NOT expect it to be malignant.
She has surgery scheduled for Jan 22nd. Since the mass is located near the main artery, he does not want to attempt a needle biopsy. Instead, he will remove the mass and the pathology report should take about a week.
Thanks for your prayers. We are walking in abundant grace.

We spent the last couple of hours at Emory University hospital. The Orthopaedic specialist looked at the MRI and he doesn’t think her cancer has spread. He does not think this mass is related to her breast cancer or malignant.
He is ordering further tests to confirm his diagnosis – and will surgically remove the mass and biopsy as appropriate.
Bottom line – best possible result.
We want to thank our prayer partners for your incredible support. It is hard to describe what happens in our hearts when you are lifting KK up in prayer.
We are strengthened by your comments (both here and Facebook). Please know that we are reading every one of your comments and hope to be able to respond to you personally soon.
Have a great weekend celebrating our Lord’s birth.

It’s been a long week. Waiting.
Finally the referral process is complete and we have an appointment set with the right specialist to evaluate KK’s health. We hope to leave the appointment understanding the next steps for diagnosis and a treatment plan.
We’ve been overwhelmed with the prayer support and encouragement from our Prayer Partners. I will post another update after the Wednesday morning appointment.
