The Love of God s love turns duty into delight.
Loving God is so much more than external obedience! Overtaken by the love of God, gratefully responding to the Gospel, my hungry soul finds delight in the outworking of His love.
Burdensome? Yes, His commandments are impossible for me to keep in the strength of my flesh. I can never fulfill His commands until I am changed by the Gospel.
Burdensome? Well…maybe…kinda. There are times His commandments sit heavy and expose the hidden selfish desires of my human heart. However, His commandments are not infuriating burdens that I despise as something unreasonably demanded.
“I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”
(Ps. 40:8)
