God arrested our hearts with His love, confronted our sinfulness and convinced us of His forgiveness in Christ. Through the work of His Spirit, we confessed Christ as Lord and responding to His love.
At that moment, the Spirit Himself took up residency in our hearts and gave us a new life and a new love.
When Augustine was asked, “How do you know you have the Spirit?” he replied, “Ask your heart, if it is full of love, you have the Spirit.”
Does the Spirit of God live in you? The fruit of the Spirit is love. This new life from the Spirit is evidenced in a new kind of love and a new kind of lifestyle. Why? God is abiding in us!
