Day 15: Praying for Troubled Families

Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. (Rom 12:15)

Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Gal 6:2)

Yesterday our staff prayed for families in trouble.  We cut our staff meeting short and focused on Unusual Prayer for Troubled Families.

First, we sat before the Lord and made a list.  With no discussion, we asked God to turn our hearts toward families in need–then jotted down initials on an index card.  We included the names of families troubled by sin and separation as well as those taxed by job loss and health needs.  Families facing trouble.

Then, we took our cards with us to the Worship Center. Some knelt at the prayer altars and some sat quietly in the pews.  After a season of intercession, we left.

Why do I share this with you?  I am thinking you might want to do something similar today.  Take some time and make a list of families facing trouble.  Be discrete–no one else needs to see your list!

But, make a list and pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ.
