Day #16: Praying WITH Your Family

Do you live in the home with your family?  If so, why not consider finding a time to pray with your family during this 40 DAYS of Prayer?  (If not, maybe you could call and talk through this on the phone).

Often families pray at mealtimes, but that is the only time you hear each other pray.  The meal table is a good opportunity to pray together…but you might want to consider more than simply thanking God for the food (as good as that is).

Read Deut 6 and then take the time to talk about how God is at work in your daily life.  Notice it says, “talk about Him when you sit down..”

Ask if there are areas/situations where your family member needs to see God at work–in those daily kind of things.  Then, somebody lead out in prayer. It doesn’t have to be long, you just need to hear each other talk to God.

It may be UNUSUAL Prayer for your family, but try it.

God gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6)
