“…accepting one another in love, diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit…” (see Eph 4)
Read Eph 4:1-7 . Let’s pray through these verses together:
“walk worthy of the calling…” Father, You have called us to Yourself. You have called us to be Your people. You have called us by Your name. We seek Your face together. We want to walk (arrange all the activities of our lives) in a manner consistent with Your calling.
“accepting one another…” Father, open our eyes to see the value of the Body of Christ. Break our hearts and stubborn wills. Move in us, Holy Spirit, and give us Your humility, gentleness, and patience. You have placed us together for a reason — help us to accept each other as special gifts.
“diligently keeping the unity…” Father, convict us of our need to work hard, to spend energy, to be diligent in fulfilling Your command to keep the unity. Holy Spirit, stir in us the deep desire to know Your peace that binds us together. Help us to treasure the oneness of the Body, the calling, the hope…our one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father.
“grace was given to each one of us…” Father, we know that You have given us different gifts. Open our eyes to see our need for diversity as we diligently protect and keep the unity.
Lord Jesus, we hear the words of Your prayer echoing through the chambers of our hearts…
“May they be made completely one,
so the world may know that You have sent Me…” (Jn. 17:23)
May it be so….for Your glory! Amen!
