Day #30: Praying They Will Ask!

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.  (Col 4.6)

“always….gracious…”   Father, let the actions of my life, and the words of my lips, demonstrate the working of Your grace.

Give me a deep desire to put Your life on display to the people who cross my path.  Let the “outsider” I meet today see something — something that is different and gives evidence of the Life of Christ.

how you ought to answer…  Father, give me insight that moves me to ask questions to show my interest and concern.  Then Father, I pray, move someone to ask me why I care!

“answer each person…”   Father, give me sensitivity to understand the need of the moment.  Give me discernment to know what to say.

Father, this is the cry of my heart today: open the door, give me the opportunity,  move them to ask!

At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

(Col. 4:3-6)
