“…veiled to those who are perishing.”
(2 Cor 4.3)
As this week comes to a close, stop one more time and pray for those you know who are lost. Read 2 Cor 4 and pray for them by name. Insert the name of your lost family member, friend, coworker, neighbor, etc. and let the truth of theses verses direct your prayer:
“But if, in fact, our gospel is veiled…” Father, it is clear that the Gospel is veiled from _____. It seems that the truth about Christ is hidden from _____ and my heart breaks that _____ does not see the truth about Christ.
“it is veiled to those who are perishing.” Father, since _____ does not see the truth about Christ, Your word says that ______ is lost. _______ is perishing in sin and will spend eternity away from You.
“Regarding them: the god of this age has blinded the minds…” Father, Your word says that satan, the evil one, the god of this world has blinded the mind of ________. So, Father, I pray that You would pull back the veil and open ________’s mind and the light of the Gospel would shine through.
For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness” Father, You are creator God and You spoke the world into being. You said, “Let there be light” and there was light. So, here is my simple prayer. Speak light into the heart of ______. Use me, or someone else. But, let the truth of the Gospel pierce the veil over ______’s heart and speak light into _______’s darkened heart.
This is my prayer in the name and for the glory of Jesus my Lord.
Amen!
