“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said…”
(Matt. 28:6)
“After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week…”
Friday afternoon, before sundown, they had laid Him in the tomb. Saturday (the Sabbath) they waited.
Now, still filled with sorrow, at first light Sunday morning, the ladies brought spices so they might anoint Jesus’ body.
As they made their way to the tomb they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” When they arrived, they discovered the stone had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, the angel said: “He is not here! He is risen!”
Today the hearts of believers from throughout the world will join in the cry: “He is risen indeed!”
He is alive!
He is alive indeed!
He is alive in me!
