Acts 20:24 says:
“But I count my life of no value to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.”
Last Sunday we saw the “Demand the Jesus” that we deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Him. This verse expresses Paul’s personal understanding and response to this DEMAND.
These special days of prayer are dedicated to reflecting on the next lap, the next round of the journey. The journey may take new turns and cover new ground but we can anticipate that it will be on a course of God’s making:
- A course only understood when I count my life as no value–to choose His Life as my own.
- A course set by God Himself.
- A course of stewardship: ministry received from the Lord Jesus.
- A course of service: testifying to the Gospel of His grace.
Father,
I put myself in the listening place. I count my life as of no value. I choose the value of knowing and following Christ as the supreme value of this life and the life to come. Open my eyes to understand the stewardship and the service that is my course to testify of the Gospel of Your grace!
