A Different Kind of Motivation

We have set this month aside for extra-ordinary prayer.  A time to slow down and listen more; an opportunity for special times of reading and waiting…

Little did I know that a health challenge would help slow me down!  A couple of days ago I was hit with a small detour that forced me to “unplug” my regular schedule.  I tore a muscle and had to simply stop–sit down–and wait.  I have had a different kind of motivation to “be still and know that He is God…”  (PS. 46:10a)  Made me chuckle a litte…wow!   I said I wanted to slow down and pray more…not expecting this kind of motivation…

I get to ease back into my schedule today…

I’m really grateful for so many of you who have taken the time to write words of encouragement and join me in the month of unusual prayer.  Here’s a challenge from the Psalmist today:

Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice,
And be gracious to me and answer me.
When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You,
“Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.”
(Ps. 27:7-8)
