Treasure and the Heart

Here’s my prayerful response to Luke 12:32-34

Eternal God.

You are the great SHEPHERD of the sheep.  I desperately need You to guide me and lead me and I trust You completely!

Father, it is my great privilege to call You “Abba, FATHER” and I know that You love me and want what’s best for me.

Since You are the KING of the universe—I know You can handle anything…how I long for You to be the King of all the kingdoms of my heart.

You are known as the One who GIVES—I know that I can do nothing to earn Your favor or Your blessing.  I receive Your gift of eternal life and I know that…

You DELIGHT in giving to me… so I should delight in giving.  Freely I have received—freely I will give.

I set my heart on You as the only true treasure.

You alone can satisfy the longings of my heart—I find great pleasure in seeing You as my eternal treasure.

Luke 12:32-34

Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.  Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Make money-bags for yourselves that won’t grow old, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
