God, thank You for telling us who You are — in Your Word. (Ps. 19)
The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
(Ps. 19:7-10)
The heavens declare Your glory—the sky above proclaims Your handiwork. (Ps. 19:1)
You have revealed Your eternal nature through creation.
“…Your invisible attributes—Your eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made…” (Rom. 1:20)
You went further and gave us Your Word to reveal the depths of Your character.
Your Word revives our souls; makes us wise; thrills our hearts; opens our eyes to see the eternal value of Your ways. Through Your Word we experience the sweetness of knowing and fellowshipping with You.
As we begin this month of prayer, we will open Your word together to see who You are.
