God, show us Jesus on every page of Your Word. (Luke 24)
Then He said to them, “These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures…. (Luke 24:44-45)
We wait before You—risen Lord.
You have conquered sin, death, and the grave; You are alive…living resurrection life in us.
You, Lord Jesus, are the hero of the Bible. You are centerpiece of human history and everything before Your coming pointed to You.
The Law of Moses pointed to our need for a permanent sacrifice to take away our sin. The Prophets pointed to our need for the Suffering Servant who would be exalted as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Psalmist cried out for the Lord’s Anointed who alone deserves to be worshipped by all of the nations.
In Your cross Lord Jesus,
Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. (Ps. 85:10)
As we open Your Word together, open our minds to understand the Scriptures. Show us our need for Jesus on every page we read.
