God, search me and know me through Your Word. Teach me the truth about myself.
For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Heb. 4:12)
Oh Lord, I humble myself before You — Your Word is living and active.
There are no teachings, nor philosophies that can take the place of Your Word. Forgive me for turning to the voices of others—when I need to turn my heart to Your Word and listen to You.
Holy Spirit, use the Word of God to pierce deeply into my inner being and shine light on my thoughts and intentions. I cannot trust my thoughts and emotions. I desperately need Your Word to go deeper within me and speak truth to my soul.
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! (Ps. 139:23)
Your Word convicts me of sin — and I confess it.
Your Word convinces me of forgiveness through the blood of Christ — and I receive it.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)
