August 21 (Month of Prayer)

God, give us boldness to proclaim the gospel.

“…that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly
to proclaim the mystery of the gospel…
…that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”

(Eph. 6:18-20)

Father, the gospel is Your power for salvation for everyone who believes.

It really is a mystery to think about how the Holy Spirit takes Your Word and applies it to the human heart. This message of the cross is used by You to transform the eternal destiny of a soul. Why would I ever not share it? How can I be quiet as though it is not real?

Forgive me for taking it lightly. Forgive me for losing the sense of awe. Forgive me for losing the sense of urgency.

My stewardship of this message is real. When I think of how You have entrusted this message to me—I know how I ought to speak. You have given me the privilege of knowing You and the honor of being Your representative in a broken world.

So give me boldness Father. Help me open my mouth and speak up for what I know to be true.

Give me the love and confidence to speak clearly. Help me make the most of every opportunity.
