August 24 (Month of Prayer)

God, use us to make you known…for their joy and your glory.

May God be gracious to us and bless us
    and make His face to shine upon us, 
that Your way may be known on earth,
    Your saving power among all nations.

(see Ps. 67)

You have been gracious to us. You have blessed us. You have made Your face shine upon us… and we walk in the light of Your presence.

But You did not bless us so that we could use all of Your blessings on ourselves. You blessed us to make us a blessing.

We are a testimony of Your grace and goodness. May we live in such a way that a watching world sees You working in our lives; and, may we open our mouths to declare the Source of our blessings.

You deserve praise from all Your creation. You deserve praise from my heart, my family, our neighbors and from the nations. Recognizing and responding to Your presence moves me to praise You and fills me with joy.

 Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you!

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy…
