August 25 (Month of Prayer)

God, like Paul, we want to speak of Christ among those who have never heard

“…thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel,

not where Christ has already been named…”

(see Romans 15:20)

We  say we want the gospel to be proclaimed to our neighbors and the Nations.

Father, this verse moves me to stop and consider if I really do.

How many of our neighbors have never heard a clear gospel presentation?

How many places in the world and never heard the name of “Jesus?”

I confess that it is easier for me to hang out with other believers. Give me the spiritual vision to see empty hearts in my daily world. Give me the courage to open my mouth and have a gospel conversation.

I confess that I seldom take the time to reflect on what is required to share Christ with those who have never heard.

Today I pray for the missionaries who are serving the nations—especially for those who are serving in places where the gospel is hindered by government and religious restrictions. Open doors for the gospel message!

Focus my heart Lord.   Give me courage to speak the name of Jesus to my neighbors — and give me a deeper longing for Your gospel to proclaimed to those who have never heard.
