When I tell you how many, and you do the math, you’ll wonder how people this old could still be alive!
First- we were teenagers when we married. Our parents knew we were called to vocational ministry and gave us their blessing to marry (young) and serve a church as Youth Pastor while going to college. We were SO young— I still can’t believe those parents trusted us with their children. WE were still kids!
Then KK delivered 4 incredible children before we finished college and seminary. What a girl!
A wonderful, loving, and patient Mom- and now a grandmother of 11 amazing grandkids. They’ve all seen her live out Proverbs 31.
Everywhere God sent us— she poured herself out in service. And, everything I’ve done, we’ve done it together.
Through it all, including her breast cancer and multiple surgeries, she has demonstrated the fruit of the Spirit and been a constant encourager to my soul.
Today we celebrate 45 years of marriage– I know, you’re shocked! 🙂 She is still my heart’s delight and greatest earthly treasure.
There are a lot of things in Prov 31 that describe her. But, today, as I count the blessing of 45 years of marriage, my heart stops to quote verse 11:
“The heart of her husband trusts in her…”
Her unwavering love gives me daily confidence. And she believes, and reminds me, that “God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly beyond all we can ask or think.”
We appreciate all of the friends and prayer partners who’ve walked these roads with us. We can’t wait to see what the next 25+ years hold in store as we serve Him— together.
So sweet! Here’s to another 45 Years!
Happy Anniversary!
Congratulations to one of the most perfectly matched couples I’ve ever known. Thanks for modeling a godly marriage for your children and all who know you. Thank you so much for your call; it had been way too long. Love you.
Congratulations, Al and Karen. I love you both and wish for you lots more years together.
Congratulations I love you two. Hope you had a great time of celebration. God is so Good. If only we turn to him. If he leads you to it he will get you through it.
Congratulations! We loved her(and you too) when you were our interim pastor 😍
What a blessing you both were in that first little church, Sisters Baptist, and you forever impacted my life for sure! Congratulations and much love to you both!

Happy, happy Anniversary!
I know I’m late to see the update, I am moved to reach out with love to Pastor Gilbert, & K.K.! I hope that in the months since the pain, &/or diagnosis, you’re feeling much better, and are again demonstrating (as always) what a friend, a pastor, & the example of a man who follows Jesus can be. I think of y’all often, despite the years… I can never forget the love I had felt from you and our Liberty family, so long ago! Miss ya all, but I know you’re well loved wherever you go. Love from me, my mom Ann Beckner, & all my sisters!
