August 20 (Month of Prayer) Knowing Him and Making Him Known

God, Your plan is for us to make disciples of neighbors and nations.

“All authority is given to Me…
…Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…
And remember, I am with you always…”
(see Matt. 28:18-20)

As I begin this Lord’s Day, I stop to wait before You in prayer.

Reflecting on Your last recorded words, here on earth, I am reminded of Your power and Your presence (All authority…I am with you always).

You really are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I worship You.

You really are here with me. Your Spirit indwells me and You will never leave me. I worship You.

These words also remind me of Your plan: “make disciples of all nations…”

Your church—Your people—knowing You and making You known.

Open the eyes of my heart to see my neighbors.

Open the eyes of my heart to see the nations (who live nearby—and far away).

Oh Father, deliver me from being so consumed in the petty daily things that I miss Your plan for eternal things.  

Use me in the lives of others.  Use me to make disciples.
